Venus, the Bringer of Peace
Venus is the second piece of music in the planets suite. This piece of music is meant to create peace as it shows that all bad things come to an end- like the war. It is named after the Roman Goddess of peace- Venus. The music starts off soft and has a slight crescendo. The instrument playing is a woodwind instrument. After about eight beats another woodwind instrument is introduced into the music. Slowly adding woodwind instruments creates the effect of peace as woodwind instruments can be calm and they are quite quiet. Then a violin joins the harmony giving it a relaxing feel. The whole piece is at a high pitch and it is piano- quiet. There is another slight crescendo as the piece gets slightly louder. A trumpet is introduced in the crescendo, then dropped in the slight diminuendo. There is another normal crescendo as the piece of music reaches its loudest point in the piece so far. Another sudden diminuendo- down to a still high pitch but a piano noise not forte. There isn't a dramatic ending in Venus but there is a quiet build up to the ending. The music slows down, gets quieter, then stops. The main instruments in this piece of music is woodwind- clarinets and mainly flute- and strings- violin. This piece of music has many pianissimo moments, quite a lot of piano moments and a few mezzo forte moments. I like this piece of music as it is calm, quiet and represents peace very well.
